The Nalanda college held a special programme on 11th January 2017 to mark the national integration week initiated by His Excellency the President Maithripala Sirisena as the Minister of National Integration and Reconciliation.  The national integration and reconciliation week has been declared from 8th to 14th January every year from 2017. All schools were requested to give importance to the unity, harmony mutual trust, national integration and reconciliation and peace by commitment to the declaration issued by the Ministry of National Integration and Reconciliation.

Hon.A.H.M.Fowze, State Minister of National Integration and Reconciliation, Mr.V.Sivagnanasothy, Secretary to the Ministry of National Integration and Reconciliation and Mr.Jayasundera, Principal, and Mr.Ajith Wickrema, Deputy Principal of Nalanda College,  and Senior Officials of the Ministry participated in the programme held at the Nalanda College on 11th January 2017 at 9.00 a.m. Thereafter, speech on importance of national integration and reconciliation by a students and the need to respect the country’s rich diversity in languages, ethnicity and religion was emphasized.
